for the next assigment we need to watch three movies and make a video about what we think about the movies that we have watched. I selected the next three movies :

 

The Shawshank Redemption 

the movie is from 1994 it is about a man that is send to prison for murdering his wife and her lover.

The Gladiator 

The movie is from 2000. The movie takes place in the Roman period. It is about General Maximus Decimus Meridius  and he is forced to participate in gladiator fights.

Saving private Ryan

the movie is from 1998. It’s about a family in the army. four brothers in the army but when three of the four brothers were dead. The Army wanted the last brother James Ryan played by Matt Damon out of the army. But there was one problem James was dropped in France.

I have watched three movies. The first  I want to talk about is Gladiator. The movie is from the year 2000. It’s about a man that fights in the Roman army named Maximus. Played by Russell Crowe. He is a roman general. he was betrayed by the son of the emperor. His whole family was killed. The son killed his own father when he wanted Maximus to be the new emperor. But the son does not want that and kills his own father. Maximus traveled to his family but he was to late. He was found by people that soled slaves. He was soled and forced to fight to survive. He fights in the arena. He wins al the fights. But the most important fight he lost. The son of the emperor thought that Maximus was dead but at the last fight they saw each other again. They fight but Maximus was already injured by another fight. And at the point the son wanted to kill maximus with a dagger maximus turns it around and kills the son. but maximus eventually dies of his injuries. The second movie that I have watched is The Shawshank Redemption. It’s about a man named Andy Dufresne played by Tim Robbins. And he is a banker. He finds out that his wife was cheating on him. He drove to the house where his wife was and he had his gun and liquor in the car. He was not really sure wat he was going to do so he changed his mind and went away. But the next day his wife and her lover were killed and they found the bullets of his gun and the liquor and he is condemned for murder.  He becomes friends with Red played by Morgan Freeman. One day he was working on the roof with some friends when a guard was complaining to other guards. He was a banker before he was convicted and he walked to the guard to and helped  the guard with his problem. The guard fallows his advice. And later Andy was doing la the financial work of the guards. He is doing the financial work of the warden also the illegal part. While he was doing the work for the warden he has create a kind of “silent” partner who invests a lot of money in prison. but then Tommy Williams comes to prison. they become friends and when Andy tells his story how he ended up in prison. Tommy remembers his old cellmate. Who was bragging how he killed a woman and her lover and that her husband took the blame for it. He wanted to come forward about Andy, saying that he is not guilty. But the warden didn’t want to lose Andy for his dirty work and had a guard shot Tommy. Andy has been 20 years in jail. Tommy being shot made Andy want to escape through a hole that he made in the last 20 year. And he had stolen the financial paperwork and when he was out he send all the paperwork to the police. Most of the guards were arrested and the warden shot himself. The third and last movie that I have watched was saving private Ryan. The story is about how four brother serve in the army. It’s starts when the army lands in Normandië. When the war office was writing the letters to the family of the people that passed away, they found out that there were more brothers of the family Ryan. Three brothers died in war. When they found out that there was a fourth brother (James Ryan played by Matt Demon) they wanted Ryan to go home to his mother. But there was a problem because James Ryan is with the paratroopers of the 101st Airborne Division and was dropped somewhere in France. So they set up a team that is going to look for James. The team that was set up to look for James on the way see horrible things of the war and wander why there is a whole team set up for only one person. My favorite movie I think is Saving private Ryan. Because I like the story and it’s a movie based on a story that happened for real, But it was a very hard choice between gladiator and saving Private Ryan.
